"do or die" is more than a moniker; it speaks to the fact that you don't take crap from anyone, especially newcomers who want to change bed-stuy into some sort of yuppie strip mall. There's definitely a stigma attached with bed-stuy, but from my experience living here, it appears to be one of the most authentic and beautiful parts of brooklyn. Being catalogued as a yuppie is easy and depends on one's attitude; as a newcomer, I can say that as long as you manage to blend in, you're fine!
